mood id #50 [Feb. 12th, 2003|01:09 am]
LiveJournal Client Discussions
what is up with mood id #50..? I notice sometimes it is sent and sometimes it isnt.
The name returned for this id is just a blank space..

possible bug? Has anyone else noticed this?

There's a long post of mine in ijournal about it, but I think it is being sent blank sometimes, too. I can't reproduce it or I'd track it down.

The lesson from that post, by the way: it won't affect most people because they should be caching their moods list. iJournal was more affected because they weren't.

LochJournal caches, but somehow, it's still getting that blank in there from time to time. Some web servers are doing it. It's rather annoying, and I posted to lj_dev about it... but shrug.

Yah, I cache mine, and that was the problem.. my cached set didnt have id #50. and when i started coding my syncitems/getevents back up functions. a older journal i use for testing had journal entries used moodid #50.. which caused my.. moodid look up function to mess up, when it couldnt find it.. so i just programmed some logic (ie moodid might not exist)

kinda weird.. I wish i could reproduce the bug.
I am betting that the servers have a local list.. and when the lj team decided to delete moodid #50.. they deleted it manually from each server.. and messed up on one.. only deleting the mood name.

If I get ambitous enough.. I will check the cvs.. and maybe make a small test.. like say..

login 100 times.. log the server.. and how many moods are returned.

we'll see.
