[music |Takahashi Yoko - Prologue de Refrain]

I've been writing ljupdate.el, the Emacs client. It rules. :)

Currently, it works under GNU Emacs 20.x and some of the 21 pretests. If anyone's interested in porting the code to XEmacs, be my guest. It would be cool if ljupdate worked under both, but I don't know much about how XEmacs differs to do the port myself.

Here's a shot of ljupdate in an xterm under 21.0.104:

Right. So anyway, that's about it for an intro, I suppose.

Hey, cool.

What would you say to merging?

Re: Hey, cool.

Stuff that ljupdate can do:

  • Post updates. :) As yourself or to a community. Public or private (but not other access groups), etc.
  • Archiving via FCC into any mailbox formats Emacs supports.

Stuff that ljupdate can't do, that are in the plan for eventual inclusion:

  • There's no mood handling, though I do have an alist of mood names & numbers that I ripped from here. The plan is to allow tab-completion of moods.
  • checkfriends support. I figure some kind of notification in the modeline would be the way to go.
