Passwords?

I would think that it might be nice to let people know if you store the username / password information or not, and what happens to that information. Many people might be reluctant otherwise.

Re: Passwords?

Ok I gave it a shot, and it stated "Error connecting to server."
Thanks for the fast response too :)

Re: Passwords?

this is strange becouse i just convert 2 my journals ;)
one with 1300 entryes
and second with only 40

this is bad what we need load full entry to just change security level. for lots of entryes this take so long time to convert all of then. will be cool to have something simple for just change part of entry with specific itemid.

hope this will be possible in future.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but...

I already maintain LJKit, which also happens to be around version 0.9.

Also, your disclaimer should say "store" not "story".

You may also wish to take a look at ljsm and ljpms, which are the two perl scripts for journals backup and security level modification.
Sorry, pages are in russian, but scripts have built-in english usage instructions.

The script uses additional modules that are not part of standard perl distribution. ActiveState's perl has 'ppm' utility which you can use to add missing modules.
type 'ppm' at the command prompt and then 'help' to learn how you can add missing modules, XML-Simple in this case.

Does this set your entire journal to friends only by updating each entry?

If so, you may want to talk to bradfitz and make sure that it's okay. If it starts hitting the servers too hard, you will get it blocked off. ;)

Hm...

Any update on this?
Is it "OK" to use?

I'm accessing the internet via corporate proxy. So I guess your very tool fails for me because it can't estabilish a direct connection to the server. Can you make an http proxy support please?
I have a number of friend groups, and I'd like my messages to be available for a single group only. Is it possible? (ljpms offers such a feature, too bad I couldn't make this script work.)
