please see this support request: http://www.livejournal.com/support/see_request.bml?id=20761

the windows client got stuck and had to be restarted, cause LJ itself was down.

is this considered as a bug or just a case of bad luck ? ;-)

Blocking sockets. It's a 'feature' and not so much a bug. LochJournal (my client) has this problem as well. It's just something that hasn't been coded for. Shrug. :)

Yeah, but even blocking sockets have a timeout you can set. I need to update my client as well to use a timeout. If something like that happens under PalmOS, my client will require a paper-clip reset.

Paper clip reset? Hehe. That'd be funny. ;)
