LiveJournal Client Discussions
I've been working on a client for Mozilla (looks and acts a lot like the Visions client), and got it up online at http://deepestsender.mozdev.org
Currently all it can do is post with most options and post to different journals, it can't edit friends or history or check if anyone's updated their LJ, but I'm working on it.
I've only been coding XUL stuff since last Friday, so I'm kind of a beginner - sorry that the source code looks like barf at the moment. I'll clean it up and everything as I go along.
It should work in both Mozilla 1.4 and Firebird 0.6.1. I don't know about older/newer versions but I can't see any reason why it'd die.
* Use a spellchecker. Unless this becomes a part of Mozilla, I'm not putting it in. I almost never use the one in the Visions client, but this could be mainly because it omits creative swear words and spells everything the American way. LiveLizard can spellcheck, but it relies on Google. I kind of didn't want to have to rely on an external site (other than LiveJournal anyway).
FYI, There is a spellchecker checked into the Mozilla Source Tree. However, I don't think it will work in Firebird as I don't think its compiled in. Although it may be in Mozilla 1.5 when its released due to the MailNews component.

Thanks for the info! If it appears, I'll try and stick it in. I've always thought Mozilla Mail had a spellchecker hidden somewhere in it (don't ask me why, I've just always had a memory of using it for some reason even though it doesn't exist); and on occasion I've gone searching for it for 15 minutes through all the submenus before remembering that it doesn't exist. My forehead usually gets some slappage then.
