ok, apart from these errors, is the PDF ok ?
windowsxp, ie6 with slimbrowser on top, Acrobat reader 5.1
Worked fine for me.
Did you check out your PDF ?! Because "no errors" on the HTML page doesn't mean that your PDF is OK. Most problems come from formatting (for example, if you put HTML in your entries subjects, you will see it (currently not fixed)). There is may be some glitches (lines which continue over the right margin... or things like that)

Worked fine for me... one thing:
If you view an LJ, you see that between each paragraph there's a blank line... this improves readability. You might want to do that with LJBook too.
Also, the second page is totally blank. Kinda weird.
You should consider putting meta-information with the entries, too: mood, music, security, et cetera. It'd be nice to have all of that information as well.
Other than that, damn good idea.
Thx for beta-testing and your comments!
Just a thing: what's weird with the blank page ? It's the back of the front page ?! I thought people could write things there, once printed...
For the rest, I will work on it.
If you use emoticons like this: ^_^
They come out like this:
Ahem. I mean like this: ^^
warning about incorrect security certificate when first going to the page
couldn't view or download the pdf
It's "normal". One IP may only have one Certificate associated. Since I host different domains on one single IP, you are warmed. Moreover I certificate myself (since a real certificate is quite expensive). But the result is still valid, you got an encrypted connexion.
If you can't download the PDF, I suppose it's because you rejected the certificate or to trust my domain ?!
Didn't realize I rambled that much. How humbling ;)
A couple of notes.
<i> markup in the subjects will be printed in the index without translation or stripping.
not sure how many people are going to like the "© Gad's LJ booker" at the end of their pages
Might be nice to have full addresses to URLs or some sort of notation system where the URLs could "possibly" be reconstructed. (Not that vital, though, most people do delete them after a short time due to space limits)
Might be nice to have <pre> working.
Anyhow, just nitpicking. Very very nice job on the generator. :)
Whoops, I should of added that it would be nice to have full URLs to images posted in the journal. I post lots of piccies in my journal and somewhat think that it'd be nice to look them up. Not that important though :)
Brilliant work on this matey, I did a small list of potential issues for you. If you want further stuff from me I am happy to help!
# I have some urls in subject lines, these are not stripped and the raw html is in the pdf.
# LJ user tags are not really handled well, should make them a different colour, perhaps in the format username (http://journaladdress
# I use the tag in a few places, this breaks by the looks of it, and anything following is italicised.
HTML in subjects where not taken into account (big problems first). All tags are not stripped (including lj's).
I don't want TEXTBook to be colored, I just want it to look like a old classic book, but I will keep your idea for another more fashion version. ;)
Corrected problem with sup.
Thx for beta testing and your comments! :)
How to find some friends on journal?

Couple of things I noticed
This is mostly nitpicks, rather than actual bugs, but
- Times are in the format 14:23:00, but the seconds are always 00, I think this is a limitation in Livejournal in that it doesn't record seconds, so it might be better to just remove them and have times like 14:23 instead.
- References are the wrong way round, they appear Link when it should be Link, at least according to the IEEE standard, I'm sure there's a reference standard that does it the other way. :)
- Some kind of mark indicating if the post was private, friends or public would be nice.
Awesome product though, thanks for taking the time to write something like this and make it available for us to all freeload off. :P

Re: Couple of things I noticed
I've sat down with the PDF and had a closer look and have picked up a few other things:
- Single quotes 'like this' show up as 6 and 9 style opening and closing smart-quotes, except that only the 9 closing quote is used at both the opening of the quotes and closing, not sure if it does it on "double quotes".
- If you have an unordered list html tag, the item show up with no bullets and aren't indented. Not sure if ordered lists are the same
- There's no indent when using the blockquote html tag.
- Posts are oldest first, except if you have more than one post in a day. Then the posts for that day start with newest first.
Hope this is useful info.
I tried using it(I had used it a few days ago), and it told me I have a bad username.
Obviously, this is not the case.
Sorry about this!
I obviously make mistakes at 4am, I know it... more than earlier...
But I still continue to do it! :D
Should work now...
Hey I just tried out the ljbook and I must say I really enjoyed it feature. I had no problems with it working, and while it took some time it did not take up alot of time. I don't know if the fact I have a cable modem or not but it didn't seem to eat much bandwidth, I was still able to downloand and do other things, but maybe when u said it eats bandwidth you meant the server eats it on your end. I defiently will tell friends about this, I think it is a great way to get your journals entries from the past year all in one place for future viewing and for archiving. I would love to make a suggestion or something, but everything went so smoothly there is nothing bad I could say. I will say this keep up the good work, and very nice and creative idea for the service.
Very glad it fits your needs! :)
The bandwidth eaten is on my side indeed! ;)
Thx for beta-testing!
