LiveJournal Client Discussions

LiveJournal doesn't allow you to post to more than one journal at a time. Whenever I post about an LJ toy on my journal, I post it to lj_nifty as well, and it's times like these that it becomes a pain.
So I wrote a simple web-based client: LJ Post.
Cool. I keep meaning to look at the existing client I use and add this feature. I know when I was using Logjam, I brought this to evan
's attention. However, I think his concern (and a valid one) is that people might abuse the ability to easily post to multiple journals.

You can post to only those journals where you are authorized to post. However, if you are talking about creating multiple accounts, and then cross-posting, then that's of concern.
People can join as many communities as they can fit on their friends list. Already there are people who make abusive posts to fifty or sixty communities in sequence. Please don't make it any easier. There's a reason why nobody has coded this into a client, and why neither the LJ interface nor the protocol capacitate it. Some things just aren't meant to be done.
I've seen it happen. It would be difficult to show you examples, because they usually get wiped out by the abuse team or community maintainers almost immediately. Of course, the times I've seen it happen, I wasn't a member of all fifty or sixty communities that were posted to, but when I saw the offenders post to two or three of mine, I went to their friends pages and saw that they'd posted to a lot more.

Yeah, he spent a few hours adding 500 people. 600 originally, but 100 asked to be removed. This is actually the second mass add I've found myself part of. Another user added around 1000. Posted once, then deleted their journal.
If Idiots can add that many people, I fear what a spammer might try.
Huh!! Do people really post to 50-60 communities at a time? Yea, give us an example.
I've seen it happen. As I said, I can't give an example, because most offenses are deleted almost immediately by either the abuse team or the community maintainers. But I'm sure that if you ask anyone on the abuse team, they will confirm it.
