Hey guys,

I'm trying to get a PHP script that logins and posts an entry into my journal. I'm trying to get the Challenge/Response auth working. After getting the challenge, I'm generating the response with

md5($challenge . md5($password))

However, this seems to not work. Does anyone know if this is the proper way to generate the response for the challenge using PHP?

Yes, that appears to be right. PHP is doing the letters in the MD5 as lowercase, so that's not a problem either.

Are you filling in all the required fields? You need to send the user name, auth_method='challenge', auth_challenge=$challenge, and of course the auth_response.

Don't quote me on this but...

I believe I had the same problem and figured out that I needed to send the ver based on reverse engineering the output of the Semagic client. I also had a timeout issue.
