Is there a script or program to download all images posted recently in a community?|
Ideally it would categorize them at least by the poster's username, possibly using folder names.
I made an attempt to just use wget for this, but it doesn't seem that wget's combination of features handles the livejournal site design (for this purpose).
is able to download all pictures for certain journal.

I tried it and it worked pretty good.
It doesn't do exactly what I 'm looking for, but I may try my amateur hands at a script that does, and yours seems a good model.
I found a bug in allin1.pl -- if the posts were downloaded with pictures (I used -i3), then the URLs to the images are all relative (../../../user/img/site/xxx or ../../../img/xxx); allin1.pl leaves those URLs unchanched, but creates allposts.html in the user folder. I think those references would all work if "../../" was removed.
It would also be nice if allposts.html included the name of the poster, the timestamp, user pic, and mood for each of the posts, as well as either making the link to the individual post go to the already downloaded version instead of the online version, or include both links (That way it's possible to quickly reply to the post and also to avoid downloading the images again).
Anyway, thanks a lot!

Thank you, Asa!
I'll fix the bugs in allin1.pl in the nearest version.
I love the cheerful music on the About screen -- and so does my cat! :->
I wasn't able to get it to download any images except user pics.
I wasn't able to find a way to get it to just be concerned with recent posts (of great concern with large, long-standing, high-volume communities)
It shold download all the pictures that are displayed in a journal. Newer seen of any problems with that.
For large communities you can "hack" .links file that is created when you indexing journal for community. Just sort this file by post ID and erase all old posts...
Or leave only a few links there and then press "Index" again - it will re-index last 2 monthes.
correction -- it did download pictures besides user pictures...
