What is this back date option? [Oct. 1st, 2004|08:56 pm]
LiveJournal Client Discussions

How do I enable the "backdate" option when posting a new event? I find that if I try to post an event with an earlier date/time than my most recent post I get an error that says:

Incorrect time value: Your most recent journal entry is dated 2005-07-13 20:35, but you're trying to post one at 2003-07-13 20:35 without the backdate option turned on. Please check your computer's clock. Or, if you really mean to post in the past, use the backdate option.

This is a problem since many people occasionally post events dated far into the future. I don't see a "backdate" in the documentation.

Oh yeah, thank you to everyone for your help in my last post. I was able to write to my journal.

If you backdate an entry, you can set stuff to the future and still post normally, however any backdated posts won't appear on any of your friend's friends pages.
