Posting comments from outside LJ? [Oct. 26th, 2004|08:30 pm]
LiveJournal Client Discussions

Hi everyone!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so please forgive me for the hassle :)
My name is Math, I've been an LJ user for the last two years, and I have a little problem.

Let me explain.

In the firm where I work, the admins have decided to block access to LJ altogether, which pisses me off to no end.
Using the Protocol docs, I managed to hack a simple PHP script allowing me to post entries, but I still miss one of the major aspects of the LJ experience : posting and replying to comments.

So, my question: would there be any way to do so from outside LJ?
Of course, that would require copy/pasting hidden attributes from the real LJ form, but that's not a problem.
Basically, is there a way to send data to www.livejournal.com in a way similar to using the postevent Flat Protocol mode to post comments?

Thanks in advance!

Sir, you may have just saved my life.
Please accept my everlasting gratitude.

... although I must be too dumb to use it properly, or something.

Username/password, OK ;)
Journal, why the "password" field? Am I supposed to enter the name of the journal, or some kind of ID?
Item ID would be the entry's ID - 167335 for the current one?
Parent ID would be the parent comment's ID - 816807 for the comment I'm currently posting on?

I tried to post comments into my own journal, but I fail miserably.

This is not a test.
