Charm version 1.5.0 released

Charm version 1.5.0 has been released.

Charm is a console (text-only) Python client for LiveJournal and LJ-based sites. It offers both menu-driven and command-line (filter) modes, and can be run in the background to do checkfriends monitoring (showing up much like elm's "newmail" functionality). It supports a full array of posting and editing options, as well as draft management, mass archival and other sophisticated features. Charm is a mature, stable client. It was first released in 2001; version 1.5.0 is Charm's seventh release.

Starting with this version, Charm also supports administrative console commands, including friends management, community management, shared journal access, and ban lists.

Other new Charm features include support for XMMS music detection, Unicode (LJ client protocol version 1), and challenge/response authentication.

You can download Charm from its home page. Charm discussion takes place in the ljcharm community.
