Hi,
I've got a question about the cookie authentication.

I see that I send the cookie to livejournal, but I'm a bit confused about how I get the cookie in the first place.
What command do I send to the lj server to have it send the cookie to the client?

Thanks,
pknodle

Clients don't use cookies, unless you're writing a comment export client, in which case you use the sessiongenerate protocol mode in order to get a cookie to send.

With clients, you get a challenge and then calculate a response hash based on that and the user supplied password, and you send all that along so the server can authenticate you.
