To support tags in your clients, just use the "taglist" logprop. Just like any other property... for example, if you usually do:

prop_opt_backdated=1

Now you can do:

prop_taglist=gabe, pets, whatever

I'm going to shortly (this week) add a way to get a user's tags so you can do a UI for it. But I haven't done that yet. So stay tuned!

Phoenix will be adding support for tags in the next point release.

Is there a way of getting a list of already used tags?

So yeah, after making a slight ass of myself to the lj_dev moderator, I now understand that you're adding the protocol to the server.

Anyway, I was wondering when you do implement the tags support, if there is a way you could implement a function like "getsharedtags" which would download the established tags for any communities you're a member of.

I also saw that you recently started using OS X. If you're so inclined, feel free to give Phoenix a try, I'm always looking for constructive criticism on it:)

Keep up the good work!
Thanks,
~Chris

Is it possible to send taglists via the blogger/atom apis? or is this restricted to the lj api?

Does this work for the XML-RPC interface as well?

Have you done it yet? :)

(The Client/Server documentation on the web site doesn't appear to reference tags at all yet. While I'm tempted to say, "Are you guys looking for a technical writer?" I'll resist the temptation...)
