For large communities, is there a way of getting a complete list of members? The directory search feature (http://www.livejournal.com/directorysearch.bml) limits results to 1000 users. The search fields given, from what I can see, won't allow you to systematically go through all possible users in the community short of doing quite a few searches.

Is there some sort of trick that might work well (even if it's not fully accurate)?

The best method I can think of would be searching for several different age ranges. You would just have to hope that no given age would have more than 1000 users in it in that community.

This doesn't currently operate, but I'm sure it would be possible to have something similar to fdata.bml that lists community members. It would be really useful.

Maybe an idea for an update in the future?

They've stated that they don't want to do that for communities because it would put a higher load on the web server. A lot of misfeatures are deliberate and exist for that purpose, otherwise they'd allegedly have a bunch of naughty bots running wild.
