I'm interested in whizzing up a Greasemonkey script much like "Instant Comments" to "instant tag" my entries. I post my entries with MultiBlog which uses the Blogger API, and not the flat API and thus can't post tags. I'd like to add a swift way to easily tag my entries from the recent list.

However, the tag edit page (edittags.bml) has a hidden form field with the auth details, lj_form_auth, I'm guessing (tho I haven't tried to be honest!) That if I don't send a valid lj_form_auth value in, I wont' be able to instant tag my entries.

Is there a way I can aquire a value from this form from an entry list? Is there another way I can post the tags in (short of producing a greasemonkey flat api client ;-))?

Cheers,

Mike

I am aware of the fact MultiBlog is a standalone app (I wrote it). I'm aware of how Greasemonkey works (I've written half a dozen scripts, a couple of which are public).

My point was, I post with MultiBlog, which means I can't post tags.

So I wanted to write myself a greasemonkey script so I could just go to my "recent entries" page and batch tag all the posts I want to tag from that one screen. Rather than clicking individually into each posts edit/edit tags, saving and then to the next post.

Semagic only posts to LiveJournal. The reason I wrote MultiBlog is to allow me to cross post to my site journal>, my livejournal and my modblog in one action.

Yeah, sorry if I came accross a bit cranky, I thought I'd posted clearly, and you seemed not to have read my response.

I am a bit cranky, been up half the night with my daughter crying. And now I have to be at work all day and deploy a big application to a major client on short notice. Fun this software lark ;-)

Cheers for the helpful pointers.

Hmm I want to start with recent posts and work backwards. That doesn't seem to be possible. I don't want to spend years tagging my posts from way back when just to get to the recent posts.

The nav buttons need a jump to first, jump to last, skip 20 entries etc. Or some kind of calendar/list view of entries so you can easily jump to whenever.

Also, what's the difference between a major and minor tag? LJ tagging doesn't have that so I'm confused.

Cheers
