Crosspost 0.2.3 Alpha is out on the streets.

http://crosspost.sourceforge.net

This version updates the MySpace backend AGAIN, which was broken by yet another MySpace site change. I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth trying to keep up with those yahoos over at MySpace.

This version also corrects a couple of bugs involving blank subjects. Blogger and MySpace don't allow empty subjects so, for now, if you leave a subject blank, it will fill it with a portion of the post text when it is submitted.

Currently supported blog services are:
  • Livejoural
  • Blogger
  • Myspace
  • Xanga

Give it a whirl. If you have ideas for added features, go here.

Did I miss something or does MySpace not promise any kind of API or backend stability since they don't publish any kind of protocol specs or have a developer program? To be fair to them, their only concern should be making sure that MySpace works with MySpace. ;)

Ok, so maybe the term yahoo was a bit harsh. =)

But still, even if their only concern should be making sure that MySpace works with MySpace, they make a horrific number of changes to core site mechanisms. For a site with so many users, one would think that the base operation of the site would remain fairly stable.

just found crosspost

Hi, I just want to thank you for this product. It's nice to not have to copy and paste journal entries over to all the different sites. Are you thinking about discontinuing support for MySpace then?

Re: just found crosspost

You're very welcome!

As far as the MySpace support question, it's too early to tell. So far, their site fluctuates so rapidly that it makes a client like this cumbersome to maintain. Crosspost is only alpha software at the moment, so there may be a future version that makes it easier to push updates to clients to fix problems. We'll just have to see.

I'm glad you enjoy Crosspost. =)

When I try to open the .jar file on my Mac OS 10.4.6-equipped laptop, I get this error message:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/eclipse/swt/widgets/Display
at com.abditory.crosspost.CrosspostMain.main(Unknown Source)

I'm a novice at this, so any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!!

Hi, I've used Crosspost! before, but when I go to add a new account and livejournal name I get this error " An unexpected error occured. Please contact the Crosspost team with an error report."

The passwords ARE correct. I have the most recent version, is there a bug that you're aware of?
