XML and Friend's Birthdays [May. 12th, 2004|10:42 am]
LiveJournal Client Discussions

[mood |pensivepensive]

I'm finally porting over mochajournal to use the XMLRPC protocol. However, during the process, I noticed that the getfriends protocol in the flat version allows you to download birthdays, but not the same protocol in XML. So, right now if I port over this protocol, I lose the funtionality of telling my MochaJournal users when one of their 'friends' has a birthday.

Is there a reason for this? Is it something that was overlooked? Is there a plan to put birtdays of your friends in the 'getfriends' XML protocol?

I would like to see that in there, so I can keep that functionality in my client and finally stick to using XML protocol instead of flat. (BTW, I really like XMLRPC... easier to deal with... happy LJ supports it).
