PocketPC client [Feb. 7th, 2006|11:23 pm]
LiveJournal Client Discussions

I've developed a simple PocketPC/Windows Mobile LJ client. It's developed using the .Net CF 2.0, but doesn't require any other software. It posts using the flat client/server interface, is able to post moods, tags, and grab the list of journals one can post to (in theory it works, but I need to create a test group to test this on..). Any feedback (particularly the "good idea" or "whatever!" kind) is appreciated.

It's available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pocketposter

I've ideas to make it able to post to other blog services, use/show pictures, grab the list of moods from the server (assuming that it's there), have a option to open the friends page, etc...

I'm aware that the posting takes a little bit, and I'm trying to come up with a way that works well to let the user know what it's doing and that it's not dead or anything. Of course my device takes too long to show a form to use a nice animated form, but I'll figure something out.

I've just created a LJ community for it:

As far as PayPal, actually, that could cause me legal issues if the software doesn't work right sometime (an exchange of money in some places implies sale or contract). So I prefer to just do it for free. :)
