After a bit of looking, I can't seem to find a Quick Post or Press It-like bookmarklet for LJ. Basically, I'm looking for a bookmarklet that will allow me to start an LJ entry from the page I'm viewing.

Does anyone know if this exists, if it's in the works, if it can be done?

Not exactly a "client" per se, but this seemed the best place to ask. If I'm lost, please accept my apology and direct me to the proper arena.

Currently, I'm able to get a bookmarklet that will copy the document title into the subject area; however, I cannot get selected text, OR the page URL to hit the entry text area. I've tried six ways from next Sunday, including every encoding trick I can think of. Whenever I attempt to get it to load data into the text area, it b0rks and doesn't even load the subject. Here's what I have so far:

javascript:if(navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Safari') $gt;= 0){Q=getSelection();}else{Q=document.selection?document.selection.createRange().text:window.getSelection();}void(window.open('http://www.livejournal.com/update.bml?draft='+encodeURIComponent(Q)+'&subject='+encodeURIComponent(document.title),'LiveJournal Bookmarklet','scrollbars=yes,width=600,height=460,left=100,top=150,status=yes'));

If you want to use it drag this link to your bookmark bar.

Perhaps someone can expand on that.
Form information:
Subject area is named: subject
Entry text area is named: draft

I'm guessing that the fact the entry text whatnot isn't taking may have something to do with LJ's auto-draft-save feature. Then again, I know jack about JavaScript, and had to go read a bit to churn this out. The core code is stolen from WordPress's bookmarklet code. heh.

At least it's quick access to the update.bml page with the document title already in place. heh.

Perhaps someone else can manage something better. If you had asked for something in PHP... *shrug*
