LiveJournal Client Discussions
hi all,

i was just wondering: is there a client i can download that makes it easy to export/save/download past journal entries? is there a way to save comments along with the journal entries? also, if such a client exists, can it also be used to download past entries from other livejournal-like sites? i know some livejournal clients allow you to sign on another "server," like "otherjournalsite.com" instead of "livejournal.com."

any help would be appreciated!

If you're a windows user, check out ljarchive. On the mac, try xjournal, though I don't think its backup is as featurful as ljArchive.

Yikes, a screenscraper? Why not use the client API to fetch entries instead, and only scrape what is absolutely necessary? It seems like memories are probably the only thing that LJSM does that couldn't be done through the API.

Have you seen jbackup?

1. It can download any journal, not just yours
2. It creates nice HTML index
3. LJSM was created long before comments api was available
