Problem with editevent XMLRPC call

I have implemented a simple client application that uses the LiveJournal XMLRPC protocol to post and edit journal entries. The posting of entries works without an issue. However, when I try to edit an existing entry using the "LJ.XMLRPC.editevent" method, I get the following error message back:

"Client error: Can't edit post from requested journal"

With my "editevent" call I am passing the following parameters: username, hpassword, lineendings, itemid, event, subject, year, month, day, hour, min.

I am performing a LJ.XMLRPC.login request first which works properly. Then I am executing the editevet. I'm not sure why I would be able to post new entries in the manner, but can't edit. I also can't seem to find any settings on my livejournal account that would be preventing posts from being edited.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
