Which client can mark all existing public entries as friends-only? [Sep. 29th, 2006|07:51 pm]

Can anyone suggest a client which can mark all my public entries as friends-only?

I googled this, but did not find any useful information. The LJ FAQ (mentioned below) only says that some clients can do it, but doesn't say which. Any suggestions?

FAQ Question #120

How do I make all my journal entries Friends-Only, Private, or Public?

Certain downloadable clients include the ability to edit journal entries, which can speed up the process of converting your previous entries to the desired security level by avoiding the wait for pages to load. For information on your preferred client, consult its documentation or menu options.

it's been known to eat entries in the past.

and i don't think it supports all of the metadata for entries.

There hasn't been a bug in HideJournal that would eat entries for nearly four years. Can you drop that particular piece of FUD? If you want to warn people against using it, just say that it hasn't been updated to support tags and location.

The latest version should support tags. I haven't checked location yet, but I imagine (like current music and current mood) it's included in the same set of data that tags are.

help with this client

I downloaded it hoping that it would work as well for me, as it did for prasun, but it won't even sync up my journal entries.

The Mono-compatible fork might using Mono.OSX. I don't have a Macintosh system to test whether it works out on this environment, though. (Nor have I had time to create a Linux bed to test this fork on.) It's one of those things that would have to be compiled and tweaked, I bet.
