delete all entries [Oct. 29th, 2006|10:11 pm]

I would like to delete all the entries in my lj without deleting my username/account. The FAQ says there is no easy way to do this but some lj clients can help. I have LJ-NET and that does work faster than doing it online... but its still a very long process. I am wondering if there is a program out there like LJ-Sec that instead of making all entries friends only can delete them all?

thank you,
Jessica

Dunno if there is. Wouldn't be hard to add this to LJ-Sec if I get a chance to work on it, though...

And... done. The update to LJ-Sec has been posted, adding the ability to delete selected / all posts.

memagic would probably do it.. Personally, I'd recommend making all the posts "private" so only you can see them first.. the if you want to delete them, you still can later, but if you delete them all now, you don't have the backout option

I have already had my old entries bound and mailed to me (blogbinders.com) so I have a "hard copy."

I've been hitting delete for a couple of hours... just two more years to go!

Have you stolen somebody's account?

I hope you are joking! of course not.

I've had this journal for years. I had 3 years of entries made into books by blogbinders.com and mailed to me. I just want to get all the negative entries out... I am in recovery now.

I'm almost done with deleting them one by one. Just a few more months to go.

I guess your question gives me an idea of why there isn't an "easy" way to do it though. If someone could just hack into your account and delete everything with one click, that would really really really suck.

Even if there is a tool to delete them all, any entries in Communities will still remain - FYI.

I think you are out of luck. If it were possible to delete journals without knowing the password or email, you could just delete everyones journal.
