I cut a few corners getting it to work - like not investigating the raw data that was returned from the LJ servers! I only started working on it 2 days ago.
I was lazy and just tried to infer what was going on with the Sync items + post updater + hashing and parsing algorithms. My head hurts - because the original author went to some lengths to make the parsing of the file comprehensive and I had to figure out what was going on.
Anyway - if any kind souls would like to run it against some big journals, it would be appreciated!

If you think it's useful - could you let other peeps on LJ know about it? I know when I wanted to make my journal friends only it was hell trying to find a program to automate it.
