that's odd...i can't seem to get it to work...i'm getting that infamous "it minimizes and stuff before i get a chance to do anything and it isn't in the system tray either" problem that was so infamous with the windows client...i get login screen but once it hit "Login" that's all she wrote...running winxp, p3 1ghz, 256 ram...i alreadt tried to run compatibility with win98 on both the install and the exe...nada...got any sort of clue?

Re: p.s.

hmm...probably something with the wise installer since I am using a completely different programming approach to the windows client. I will look into this.

Re: p.s.

nope, didn't get corrupted, works for me. the installer installs fine which means the checksums match up which means the files are the right size. I think roy, you will have to look at the installation script again, they said that the same thing happened with the official windows client, so it's probably some setting in the installation script that needs to be fixed.

Re: works.

a lot of ideas i'm planning on incorporating into the client are on the sourceforge website.

right now, the client does online and offline posts only. i'm going to add functionality to edit previous entries, download journal, posts to multiple locations...pretty much a full fledged client where browser intervention is not required.

Re: features...

what about the preferences tab. is it known that it doens't yet work?

I apologize if this is foreclosed on sourceforge, I'm lacking time to do a full review. Just wanted to test it and help you out. ;o)Let me know what else I can do.

Re: features...

yes, the preferences tab is only cosmetic so far.

If you would like to help out, you can start by banging on the client, testing every possible permutation of actions you can think of to see if, and how the client breaks. you can then submit bugs on sourceforge.
If you have an account on sourceforge, I can add you to the project.
If you have any suggestions, you can submit them as feature requests on sourceforge.
If you have any Python programming knowledge, let me know, you might be able to help out there as well.
I also need someone to maintain documentation, both internal APIs and product usage documentation.
If you would like to take up documentation maintenance, I can give you a few pointers to get you started.
Let me know what interests you the most and we can go from there.
