Correct me if i'm wrong. but it seams like getevents and syncitems do not return the same number of results?

Right?

syncitems returns all changes since a given date, including deletions (currently) and (in the future) other types of data like comments. getevents just returns the entries.

yea, i know
but even looking up the code
getevents returns 300 limit (using SQL LIMIT command)
syncevents returns 500 limit (LIMIT command)

Oh, that's arbitrary. A properly written client shouldn't care about that, and it's liable to be changed on the server end at any time without warning.

yea, but that makes checking syncitems for the next batch of updates kinda pointless....
doesn't it?

I'm just not really seeing how syncitems is supposed to work after the initial use (to find out the first post)

I never figured that out either... it seemed to me that you just needed to keep using getevents in the sync mode, yeah?

I think the idea is that if you properly use syncitems and getevents together, your client will both back up and update (without making a new backup, y'know?).
