The Journalert client for Mac OS X has been updated with support for the new UTF-8 LJ protocol extensions. This was this missing link ... now Unicode is fully supported all the way from the (Cocoa-based) GUI down to the server.

Journalert 0.94 unexpectedly quits every time I choose "Save" from "File" menu. I was trying to post Russian messages.

Yikes! Sorry. Could you email a crash dump? (Turn on crash logging in the Console app's preferences panel.)
Does it crash if you post messages in Roman languages like English or German? I can't imagine why Russian specifically would cause a crash...

2002-04-15 19:17:07.016 Journalert[422] Got nil as the string argument in NSMutableString. Pass empty string instead. Will probably crash.

And yes, it occurs when I use cyrillic symbols only, no crash while using roman languages

BTW, for the benefit of anyone else reading this thread ... this bug was fixed in the 0.95 release.
