So I have the following response. Is there a global list of faultcodes somewhere in the LJ docs? Or should I simply use the faultString and discard the faultCode?

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<methodResponse>
<fault>
<value>
<struct>

<member>
<name>faultString</name>
<value><string>Invalid username</string></value>
</member>

<member>
<name>faultCode</name>
<value><int>100</int></value>
</member>

</struct>
</value>
</fault>
</methodResponse>

I imagine it's the list at the top here:
http://cvs.livejournal.org/browse.cgi/livejournal/cgi-bin/ljprotocol.pl?rev=1.120&content-type=text/x-cvsweb-markup

But you may as well just use the error string unless you need to specifically know which error it is.

About the only use for the error codes is that you can present a different kind of message depending on what kind of error it is. The first digit tells you of the two special ranges of “Client Error” and “Server Error”.
