Question about Client/Server Protocol [Oct. 22nd, 2002|03:38 pm]

Maybe I am missing something and someone can point out what it is.

In a client I am working on, I am trying to check and see if any of the user's friends have posted new journal updates. In other words, I am trying to check to see if the user's friend's page has been updated. I am using the XML-RPC interface. I can not see anyway to do with the current implementation. I was going to try using the syncitems call with the user's friend's name's to check for new entries but it requires a password which is obviously unavailable.

If anyone knows a way to get it done, please let me know. If necessary I can flush out the implementation of the client protocol interface.

Thanks in advance.

This is the closest method I know of. It may not be what you want you want though.

Re: closest method I know of

Thanks alot, I just totally missed that one. For some reason, when I looked at it I thought it was referring to the list of friends you have on your userinfo page.

I am having the same problem trying to code a custom php friends page. I can't figure out how to get information about a friends latest entries without their password...
